Who do we look up to today? Celebrities are like God and we follow whatever they say. Why has this trend started? In America, the media holds the most power. People look for the quickest ways to make money and the solution is to go into show business. There are celebrities that have never done anything productive in their lives or finished school or anything and all the sudden, they hit the big time.

There are rappers that have been involved in crimes and drugs but somehow we don’t seem to care once they become celebrities. We think that the past is fascinating but it is not. There are actual people who work hard for their lifestyle and try to do it the right way and don’t get involved in activities that they shouldn’t. We have celebrities that don’t deserve to be in the spotlight, let alone have people look up to them.

How can we look up to these people? They have us wrapped around their fingers when it comes to us being obsessed with everything about them. There are so many gossip magazinesthat follows stars 24/7 and make millions of dollars. What is so unique about them? They are regular people, some that don’t even deserve to have the kind of fame and money that they do.

While we have people who are living on the streets, gossip magazines are paying millions of photos of celebrity babies. What has the world come to? When did celebrities become the center of the world? Somehow we find celebrity lives amusing and like a soap opera. We follow troubled celebrities every and when they make mistakes, we still look up to them.

We see what they wear and what they do. We see and then we do. Celebrities influence us in so many ways. We continue to be amazed with them after they enter rehab or get arrested. Regular people work their whole lives and are lucky if they can get to buying a house and somehow celebrities are filthy rich and do not even appreciate what they have and what an influence they are. Why do we look up to celebrities? We may never know for sure except that we are amazed with them. The world of Hollywood is like one big soap opera.
