What is it with car fanatics these days and when does it end? My fiancé is a great example. What he does for his car sometimes amazes me. Actually, sometimes I question his devotion to me vs. his car. Funny right?  But I am pretty sure that a lot of girls have gone through that. It all started after I bought him an intake manifold. Before him, I had no idea for the life of me what that was. I paid a lot of money for it because he would talk about it none stop and in all honesty I wanted to please him by getting something he wanted. I never though that by me buying one car part for him, it would set him off to buy many more parts worth thousands of dollars.

I get headaches all the time when the list goes on and when I see the amount of money spent. First I would hear about this car project non stop and now I’m living it. After spending so much money, now he is spending so much time working on his car. Sorry, I should have described the car first. Its black and I like it. No wait, I liked it because it’s not drivable yet, at least for another two months. As far as I know it’s an Acura with custom work which makes it pretty special. At least to him it is.

Today he took out his entire engine and transmission out. I never knew what that meant until I saw it because all that interests me in a car is how pretty it is and the color it’s painted. For the past two weeks he has been telling me that he has bought most of the stuff. At first I just said ok but when he started working on it I saw his devotion and patience with it. Today we got to the parking lot around 2pm. He tried raising everything under the hood out. I’m guessing that’s the engine and transmission. He ran into problems and got real upset. I guess he felt that after putting so much work into it, things would work out smoothly.  There he went again, working on it trying to make it come out. Finally, after two hours he said he was ready to try and take it out again. To my understanding he got it out barely and now he needs to take more stuff off to be able to put it back.

So many terms I don’t understand. All I know is that he will be putting a lot more hours into this thing. The scary part is that he loves it. He is extremely excited about it. To my understanding he is building the engine head, whatever that means. He is also doing miscellaneous work around the car such as a wire tuck and engine computer upgrades. He is such a car freak. My head was spinning all day and plus I was in the cold. I took pictures of him during the process because as all car freaks, he wants to monitor his work for the forum online for his car. Don’t ask why, but that’s the way it works. OMG when will it stop?
